Celebrating Women for the Real World

It’s a Dog’s World

This past weekend our sweet pup got a treat.  Even though we have been living here for over 15 years, I never knew we had a Bark Park fairly close until Sheri’s daughter “J” told me about it.  It is the Congressman Bill Archer Bark Park, and all of us had a good time.  They have two fenced areas one is for dogs 20 lbs and above and one for dogs 20 lbs and below.  Both have ponds that are shaped like dog bones.

Poor Zeus was scared at first. He is a tiny bit spoiled and I don’t think he believes he is a dog. The he was confused when all the dogs would come up and sniff his butt (after all, he is used to doing the sniffing). Here are a few highlights from outing:

He made a new friend here and did warm up to the whole experience after a while. He did have a difficult time getting past all of the smells there at the park.

At the obstacle area, we had a difficult time getting Zeus to participate.

After a while he did get the hang of some of the obstacles:

It was funny watching Zeus around the pond. You see, when ever a ball was thrown in the pond and a dog would jump in he wanted to jump in too……but not quite.

I think we are going to have to take him there on a frequent bases. Can you all guess what Zeus did when we got home?

Yep, he fell asleep on his bed.

Awww….. I am glad he made some friends. Yes, I think he should go regularly. Now, if they could just make a cat park we would be in business….hehe!

So cute! Could you just see Oreo? He would probably get kicked out of the 20lb and under for being to agressive and then spend the rest of the time in the 20lb & over trying to heard the dogs and make sure they knew he was in charge! LOL.

Looks like Zeus had a great time!

We take our dogs there and they do love it. If we’re ever there at the same time, you’ll know it, as Butch takes the words “Bark Park” as a literal instruction…and he loves to bark, whine and howl if anyone’s willing to talk back to him.
