Celebrating Women for the Real World

Monday Monday

Dear Zeus:

First and foremost you know that I love you.  Who else in this family randomly buys you treats and bones to gnaw on?  That would be me!  If the guys don’t feed you and you are licking your empty bowl (loudly) I will fill it up for you so you won’t starve.

You really are a smart dog; you learned to ring your bell by the back door to let us know that you need to go potty.  It is so funny in the morning when you really have to go, how you dance around crossing your doggy legs while we struggle with the key-lock-storm door to let you out.

We even found it ammusing when I was working in the courtyard garden, Big G came out to talk to me and G2 ran out the door to go to work and you proceeded to lock the deadbolt.  Yep, we were stranded outside with our cell phones and keys locked in the house.

You can’t forget the time the girls came over and we grilled hot dogs and brauts.  After we ate and we were outside, you ate all that you could and then hid hot dogs and brauts all over the house.  We laughed so hard as we were pulling hotdogs from behind planters, under your bed, and we about peed our pants when Sheri found a hot dog hidden in the sofa….clever boy.

BUT…..we need to come to an understanding!  When mommy spends ALL DAY in the backyard, weeding, building up the flower beds, planting new annuals, and mulching.  I am NOT HAPPY when you go behind me and start digging everything OUT of the flowerbed and biting off the flowers.  You have to learn self restraint because if you keep this up, you will be shipped off to Tammy’s!

I will rescue you. I promise. You can eat all the flowers that I have (cause I don’t have any).

    You are a sweet boy.

P.S. I know you only ate the flowers cuz Mom was spending all of her day planting them and not playing with you. Stupid flowers.

Again – if you are going to spend all day, ‘digging’ and ‘burying’ things…. what else is that sweet baby going to think, other than that you have planted yummy Brats all around the yard for him to find???? 🙂

Pooooooooor pupper, only got veges, when he was sure you were hiding brats… 🙂

And that’s why I don’t plant flowers in our backyard. Shrubs, trees, sure. Flowers? No. Max is a digger and stubborn.
