Celebrating Women for the Real World

Stuff Portrait Friday!

TGIF! I’ve only been back to work for three days and boy do I need a weekend! Kristine decided to give us a break and was straight forward with her assignment this week:

1. Your Supplies (home, office, school — whatcha got?)
2. Your Bag (we’ve done it before, but I know you all change purses like I change undies)
3. Your Mail box (most look the same nowadays so pan out and let me see where you go get your mail.

MY SUPPLIES

Here are my supplies for work. Since I work at five schools this is my proverbial “bag of tricks”. It has fun stuff like beads to string, putty, Velcro (can’t get enough of that), all kinds of scissors, stencils, chopsticks, tongs, etc. There are all kinds of goodies I use to help my kiddos increase their fine motor skills.

MY BAG

My little, bitty, purse has a purpose. First, I don’t really care for huge bags because they get heavy. If there is any space to be filled, I will fill it. Another reason for the little bitty bag is when Big G and I go somewhere he is forever asking me to put his sunglasses and his wallet in my purse; with my current bag I simply say “Nope, they won’t fit”.

MY MAILBOX

Nothing spectacular here…it receives mail (need to paint it now)…but I did try and get a creative shot. Too bad my neighbors thought I was nuts when I was taking this.

Did you play?

I like the mailbox, too. And, I have a picture of a squirrel that I took in my front yard and my white trash neighbor kept trying to look without being obvious to see what I was doing. I didn’t want to show him the squirrel for fear he’d shoot it and ‘et it. 😉

For the fine motor skills, advice for my 7-year-old’s writing … he doesn’t write any better than his 3-year-old sister!!! And, he is smart as a whip. Occupational therapist suggested a mechanical pencil to give him a lighter touch and it helps, but he is starting second grade and still writes some letters backwards. His big brother has dyslexia. Should I have him tested you think? Sorry to go off … armyofmomblogger@yahoo.com if that is easier.

And, with that of that … I played, too!!!

I like your bag – small but useful. And not with the bag all up in your pits. My kids do the same thing – ‘can you carry this for me?’…..

I LOVE that purse. I tried the smaller purse thing too but if the Boyfriend is determined that he wants me to carry it he will figure out some way to make it fit. Then I complain the purse is too heavy and make him carry it. Sometimes it works, sometimes not.

    I played too!

Count me as yet another human that likes that mailbox pic! I wish I actually had a mailbox, but I had to go another route. In my old hometown of Waco there is this one house in the middle of nowhere that has this fully functional mailbox with flag that just happens to be about 25 feet tall…we call is the Big Mailbox…yeah…we were a creative lot.

Great job! I played as well!

    Have a great weekend!!

Oooo I hate, hate, HATE when hubby just puts his hand out with his keys, wallet, whatever…he don’t ask.

Cute purse. Love the mailbox shot. I may have to pick your brain about them supplies. My boy has an issue holding his pencil. Any tricks other than a pencil grip you can suggest?

    I finally played. Come look.

I take pictures lying on the ground all the time. Once this guy was driving by, and he screeched to a stop and ran over because he thought I was hurt or having a heart attack or something. “No, no, just taking a picture”.
