Celebrating Women for the Real World

I think my cat needs therapy

Mercedes has had a difficult holiday season. She has had challange after challange thrown at her left and right. The first insult was that we dogsat again for six days over the Christmas holiday. Needless to say…she was NOT happy.

Riley just made himself at home since he had been here before. He also remembered to stay away from that cranky cat.

Funny how this is the look on her face, every time she would look at Riley. I think it is safe to say that she was not a “happy camper”.

We can’t forget the constant stand offs that would take place. They both did better this visit and would at least stand five feet from each other. As if this whole senario wasn’t bad enough, the day after the dog left, G2 and I went on our road trip. She hates suitcases and kept crawling in and out of mine.

So you would think that things calmed down after our return. Not really, cats hate fireworks. We think she hid under our bed during the festivities, but we are not sure. She finally appeared on Sunday. Since all of this torture, she has been sleeping A LOT. Does anyone know of a good pet therapist?

The picture of the dog and the cat in the hallway staring at eachother. I love it. It’s like the perfect hallmark card or something šŸ™‚

The picture of the cat and the dog staring at each other in the hallway reminds me of the standoff cowboys had in the old west before they pulled their guns. Poor kitty. Well, maybe things will get back to normal now.

Sweet kitty!!!! Those pictures are precious. She needs a playmate. We have lots of kittens at the SPCA and will be out at the cat show this weekend as well. Cats are very social and handle stress, being alone, and being afraid better with a companion cat. Seriously. šŸ™‚ Even if she’s old and cranky, she’ll come around if it’s a non-threatening kitten that invades her territory. šŸ™‚

Our cat hated the fireworks too.

Oddly enough, our dog doesn’t really like our cat and is a bit jealous. The cat, however, thinks the dog is her mommy. And attempts to snuggle and suckle any part of the dog he doesn’t protect.

Come to think of it, that might be why the dog isn’t all that crazy about the cat.

LOL, Poor Mercedes! Gotta love the picture especially the stand off one.

In my house its the dogs that are gonna need therapy. My second cat 1.5yrs is always tormenting both dogs, lol

The standoff in the hallway remind me of my daughter and her cousin. They couldn’t stand each other (sad, huh)so they would give looks. Funny how our anmals are so much like children. Ya gotta love um! Who else would put up with our bawling fits and bitchy moods?

Oh I love the markings on Mercedes! She’s beautiful!

    I’ve always loved the torties.

My favourite pic is the “grumpy” one. She looks like she has a little burmese in her in that pic, but that could be just ‘the look’ she’s giving.

    Poor thing.
