Woo Hoo for me! You may not think this is a big thing; but those that know me know! What did I do? Hold on to your hats.
I….Said……No…..
You may be thinking “big deal”. Oh, but it is. I said no to chairing a committee for Project Prom. I’ve been room mom, Secretary of PTO, VP of PTO, President of PTO (for three years), and much more. A few weeks ago I signed up to be on a few committees, but not to chair. I really don’t mind doing the work, but being a committee chair is a HUGE responsibility. I really hated to say no, but, if I have too many irons in the fire, how am I going to be effective at anything? I’m not. I’d rather do what I can and kick ass while doing so than to try to do too much and suck! I want to enjoy the “Prom Experience” with my daughter. I want to enjoy graduation. I want to enjoy my kids and my husband (and the dog).
You just don’t know how proud I am of myself. Snaps please (referring to Legally Blond).

On another note, my trainer was very proud of me last night. It was my first night training with him for over a month. He was very proud of me because I didn’t piss and moan when things were tough; I didn’t quit although I wanted to; and I tried to say positive things about the whole training thing.

Update on the flu epidemic. I ended up taking both boys to the doctor. Son #1 had bronchitis. Son #2 was borderline pneumonia. Son #1 is much better after a day of antibiotics. Son #2 is not. In fact, he seems a bit worse. If he’s not better today, tomorrow we’re going back to the doctor and I’m going to request blood work. Yes, he’s that bad.
That’s it for today. Happy Thursday!

GOOD FOR YOU!!! I need to learn the “no” word as well.
Many snaps.
Hope the boys feel better soon.
You go girl! No is an all too important word that we forget as mothers!
YAY for the gym!
I hope everyone feels better really soon!
Mucho snaps (international snaps - woo-hoo!) to you.
Hope the germies go away soon.
Way to go saying no!
That’s great that you’re back at the gym!
So sorry to hear the boys are still sick. Hope son2 gets well quickly!
Snaps!
Hope Son 2 feels better soon.
snaps! I am proud of you saying no! That is very difficult…and you do not have to justify it. I was going through something similar last year and my mom told me it was OK to say no…and all of a sudden I got new strength to say no. YOU are important!
I hope the boys get much better soon. When I had that crud it took 2 rounds of antibiotics before any improvement and codeine to get rid of the cough. What happened to antibiotic shots???
I’m new to your blog, never commented before, but I completely understand! Saying “NO” is HUGE! If you’re interested in another “learning to say no” experience, check mine out by clicking on “Guilt Free Living” in my post entitled “what’s your word?” I still struggle with it.
p.s. I’ve subscribed and look forward to reading more! (actually, I’m reading more right now.)
double snaps!
I’m so very proud of you!!!!!
Okay, I’m not only new to your blog, but obviously also new to some of the WordPress administrative stuff. My name link sent you to a “supplemental” blog. I think I fixed that and my name link will take you to my main blog where you’ll find that “what’s your word?” post I mentioned. (yeah, I have no confidence that I fixed this, so just in case, my main blog url is: http://pragmaticcompendium.wordpress.com/)
3 snaps in Z formation girl!
Hope son #2 gets better soon. Manchild had pnuemonia last year - it was not fun.
I’ve never had a problem saying No.
I ended up with bronchitis too. I’ve been on antibiotics for a day and feel MUCH better. Being sick sucks.
